Why focus on Social Networking? There is a growing need to brand one's identity, be current with contemporary trends and behaviors, capture eyes and learn the mechanics of Social networking.

We covered "Endorsing industry pages and posts, business pages". Here are the topics we covered.

Best time to schedule social networking posting: twice weekdays and once each weekend day.
Instead of just "Liking" someone's post, make a comment and ask an open ended question to generate responses.
When endorsing another business or commenting on someone's social post, be soft when providing a referral. Don't sell.
Have your posts reflect you top three interests. My interests are food, places to visit and working out.
Endorse. Encourage. Appreciate. the people you know.
Test and measure. Weekly review all your posts and see which topics get the most feedback.

Coworking space eCitySocial is a space dedicated to small business entrepreneurs and professionals. The found Marc Frazier was formerly an IT director for an oil and gas services company. After a small term at the Houston Technology Center, an incubator for small business to raise capital and get the experience and support to grow a business, Marc decided to create a space with less formality and more celebration.

Located on near 11th street, on 1123 Yale, in the Historic Heights, eCitySocial is a renovated 1920's home that offers conference room space, wireless internet, private office space and back office services (mail drop, copying, and printing) In the second 1920 home there is space to hold events.

"Part of the inspiration for this space came from Festival Internacional Cervantino" which is an annual festival for the performing arts and culture held in Guanajuato, Mexico. "We wanted to take that same festival/social atmosphere and create an environment where that can happen.

When you get to the yellow house on Yale, you will see a handpainted image Cervantinos on one of the window panes to honor and remind visitors of the inspiration. The coffee served is donation based rather than offered via menu like other competitors. You can work, read, collaborate or meditate.

There's more inspiration that Marc's vision holds. At eCitySocial Marc is dedicated to giving back to the community. He is working with a local group for an outreach to youth on Friday evenings.

He also sponsors local artists' works such as John Paul Hartman who is a mix media conceptual artist. Another term John Paul uses is "assemblages" for those who are art aficionados. In the rear of eCitySocial the garage has been converted to showcase local artists' work.

When you drive by, some days you can find an airstream mobile food kitchen, called "What's Up Cupcake", a local Heights business with a strong local following.

Come by whenever you can to hangout. Enjoy the space, walk around and get inspired, or collaborate with other entrepreneurs. Definitely a place to see for yourself.

Houston Area Real Estate - The European Inspired cafe Flora and Muse recently opened in the new West Houston Luxury residential and retail center called CityCentre. The owners of Flora and Muse wanted to create a space where several types of people could come and enjoy an experience: the busy professional on their way, friends sharing a cup of coffee and desserts and enjoying one another, or those who want an unique dining experience.

When you first walk in, you are in the floral and pastry shop. At Flora and Muse you can quickly pick up a bouquet of flowers (men!) to take home to your spouse or grab coffee and a bite to eat. The decor seems to remind me of grandma's formal living room.

When you reach the back part of the restaurant there is an area of tables and booths where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. The atmosphere at Flora and Muse encourages you to tarry and stay for a little bit or all day. Some people have been known to stay in the morning and then end up being there the entire day. Flanking this area are unique art pieces. You have got to go and check out what they have put up.

On the opposite side of the floral and pastry shop at Flora and Muse is the restaurant and bar. This section is a perfect space for an evening meal with family or with clients. Recently I hosted a trunk show (fashion and clothing) for my clients and used a private section draped with a large luxurious curtain and covered by three large chandeliers.

Come and hang out at Flora and Muse today, in the upscale retail CityCentre in Memorial, West Houston.

TIP: Top 10 Buyer Biggest Mistakes

Who wants to make a mistake when purchasing the largest single investment in a person's life? I do not like making mistakes, especially when buying or purchasing. These are not in order of importance.

#10 Applying for a mortgage when you don't know anything about your credit history. A high percentage of Americans have some derogatory on their credit history. Look at the first before you start. Important to go with a good credit repair company if you find yourself in that situation. Team up with a good lender so that you can coordinate the timeline.

#09 Searching before getting financing pre-approval. In light of the financial events of last year, there are many changes occurring even on a daily basis that affects a person's ability to purchase a home. True that the interest rates are the lowest in years. However, there are so many more nuances to getting a loan that it is highly recommended that you meet with your loan officer. Biggest losers here are small business owners because the lending system is based on being an employee, tracking your W2.

#08 Understanding properties that are available. Many buyers start searching first and then defining what will work for their lifestyle. It is better to meet with a real estate agent to help facilitate the search process. Saves tons of time.

#07 Not working with a full service agent. There are a lot of part time agents who sell 1 house a year or do it as a hobby. There are about 145 things to consider in completing a transaction. As a buyer, you should have services that include confidentiality, accountability, reasonable skill and care, undivided loyalty, advocacy, and obedience to lawful instruction. #06 Having a clear negotiating strategy. Price is about 80% of a deal. The remaining 20% are about terms which can include repair of current conditions, appliances at no cost, flexible move in date and other issues.

#05 Overlooking contingencies when asking for repairs during inspections. This can be the single biggest savings that you can make. Often a simple request that is not complete can result in a buyer required to purchase a property after inspections have been made and contractually the buyer is required to perform.

#04 Doing it yourself. More than ever before, it is important that a buyer is represented by an agent because agents have access to resources, data and experience that can help facilitate the purchase of a home faster and easier. Who are you going to have for inspections? what the title is clouded? How do you handle discriminatory language in the HOA documents for the property you are purchasing and the lender wants to strike it and the HOA doesn't meet to vote in another 6 weeks? The seller is paying for the services of a buyer's agent anyways. "I will never, ever buy a house again without an agent" Steve N

#03 Buying too much house. Make sure that you can afford the monthly payment on a 30 year fixed mortgage. If not, consider downgrading to a smaller house, choose a different neighborhood or look at a townhouse or condo. "Dangerous to buy out of your price range" - Andrea B K

#02 Buying new construction without an agent. Save both money and headache. New construction salespeople represent the seller who is a builder and will advocate for builders... period. By having a buyer's agent, you can make sure that the builder is accountable to timelines and completing what the builder promised to do. Also, there may be price incentives offered to buyer's agents not available to the general public.

#01 Waiting on the market to get better. Rates are the lowest in history. As rates goes up, your affordability goes down because the amount of house you can afford goes down as well. Also, many properties that will meet your needs and wants will come on the market and then be bought by other purchasers and you lose the opportunity.

MUST SEE: Vietnamese Restaurant, Rice Military, Les Givral's Kahve @ Washington 4601 Washington Avenue Houston, Tx 77007, Harris County

If you are a Vietnamese aficionado, definitely try Les Givral's Kahve on Washington in the heart of Rice Military. Some incredible food, fast, fresh and definitely healthy. My standard is the beef soup (Pho) which for me is definitely comfort food. Or try the inexpensive sandwhiches made with yummy french bread. If you are adventurous, you could try the rice dishes some of which has a fried egg on top. Nothing but protein for you Atkin's folks.

What is definitely unique about Les Givral's Kahve is the interior decor. The restaurant has a lounge area where you can have an afternoon cocktail or a pre-party before you head out to the local bars. The owners wanted to divide the space from the main eating area. So what do they do? They hire an artist who takes a bunch of 2x4's and yes..creates a masterpiece. It took a little bit to get it just right.. Lots of moving it back and forth. All assembled onsite, this structure divides the space nicely.. Oh yeah, it is called the "nest".

And yes, if you used to go to Mai's (which burned down earlier this year 2010) after going out on the town, this is your new stop. It is open until 3AM.. Yay munchies!

So if you are out and about "Inside the Loop", definitely give Les Givral's Khave a try. It is healthy, yummy and easy on the budget.

TIP: Healthy eating through a vertical garden

During Memorial Day, I spent some time with a friend in Austin. I saw this large planter with a tomato fence on his front porch. I asked him what this contraption was? "A vertical garden. My boys and I grow herbs and vegetables so we can eat healthy." He said it didn'

There isn't a guy here in Houston who builds vertical gardens.. or at least someone I do not know so I decided to build one myself. Of course, this is all based on this picture.

So at Lowe's supplies I purchased

Plastic pot, drill holes at bottom
Lava rock - allow water to flow out of the dirt
Galvanized weed fence (had to buy a roll)
Plastic twist ties to secure the fabric and the soaker hoses
Landscape paper (black stuff)
7 bags of dirt
Hoses: 10 foot soaker hose (get a smaller one if you can), 15 foot regular hose
Spigot timer( so I don't have to go out there every day to water), need batteries
Fertilizer (Scott's flowers and vegetables)
Tools: Scissors to cut through the fabric, wire cutters, needle nose pliers

Here's the plants I purchased

Sweet mint
Mint
Basil
Sweet Basil
Crookneck squash
Bell peppers
Strawberries
Cilantro
Jalapenos

Took about 2 hours to assemble and lots of sweat. This is a picture of day 1. More to follow.
